Paper Submission Details
The GeoOttawa 2017 abstract submission phase is now complete and corresponding authors have been advised of their submission's acceptance. Over 750 abstracts were received and almost all were selected to move on to the technical paper submission phase. The titles and corresponding authors of accepted abstracts are posted on the Accepted Abstracts page.
Complete technical papers must be submitted by May 15, 2017 using the online submission feature available here. Corresponding authors will be required to register as a delegate for the conference before they can submit their paper(s) - the online delegate registration and payment system will be functional by mid-March, 2017.
The Author's Release, Declaration and Understanding has been incorporated into the online submission process - all corresponding authors must select "Yes" in the Copyright Permission field or the paper will not be uploaded to the site.
The GeoOttawa 2017 Technical Subcommittee will review all papers for clarity, technical merit and relevance to the conference. Our goal is to inform corresponding authors of their paper's acceptance by June 15, 2017 and possibly before. In cases where the reviewing team feels revisions are necessary, comments will be provided with revised papers being due by July 15, 2017 .
All accepted papers, for which at least one author has registered for the conference, will appear in the published proceedings of the conference - each registrant will receive a digital version as part of their delegate registration.
To help authors ensure their paper meets the conference's presentation requirements, a Technical Paper Template/Guideline has been prepared. All authors must use this template and follow the guidelines to help ensure presentation uniformity in the conference proceedings – submissions that do not follow the prescribed formatting guidelines will be returned. Please take particular note of the abstract word count and page limits.
Final decisions regarding the presentation format and assigned session for approved papers will rest with the Technical Subcommittee. GeoOttawa 2017 will include a very visible poster session with dedicated time in the conference program, and a prize will be awarded for best poster. Authors can indicate their preference for oral or poster presentation when they submit their paper.
Questions regarding the paper review process, sessions and the technical program should be directed to the GeoOttawa 2017 Technical Chairs:
